Lichtenstein Style Dots and Words

Any of our Lichtenstein style canvases can have a plain or dotty background. It's your art so you can choose - just let us know your preference when ordering.

You may also want to add you own special message to the canvas by using a speech or thought bubble. Again just let us know the particular text when you order and we'll incorporate it into your design. If you are stumped for a clever or witty message lines from favourite films, music lyrics or the clasic "I love you" always work well!

Adding in more than one photo to your design

We are more than happy to work with several different photos for your Lichtenstein pop art portrait (Our four panel example above shows this in action). This can work out really well for the four panel configuration where you can have different photos to show off your Pop Art family, grandchildren, friends etc. Looks great and makes a prefect present for someone who has everything.

As we have to create new artwork for each separate photo there is a £20 additional charge per extra photo/person.

How your Pop Art is created

We don't use any gizmo's, gadgets or automated software to design your Pop Art portrait just the skills of our great illustrators! To show you how each stage is hand drawn just follow the images below to see how we created one of the figures in the design at the top of the page.

First steps are to roughly outline the face areas in.

Next we add a bit of shading to the blank face. Immediately you can see how the structure of the face starts to come alive

The first details are then added - we normally start with the eyes as they convey so much of the character of a portrait that they need to be right!

At this point you can really get a feel for the charcter of the Pop Art. Eyebrows finsh off the top of the face.

The nose goes in next along with any main facial lines. Laughter lines can really crease the cheeks and as soon as they are drawn in you can tell that people are smiling.

Almost there! Next area is the mouth which takes several layers and detailing to get right. First a big blob of colour is drawn in.....

....then the highlighting and shine.

Finally the hair is added - amazing how much just this one addition changes the whole look and feel of a face.

Then the highlights to the hair for that perfect comic book look.

Of course we then have the clothes and background to add in along with any speech bubbles but hopefully you have got a feel for how much love and care we put into each design. Our job is to make you happy and create you a stunning piece of Pop art and we look forward to transforming your photo very soon.
